Those who have followed Palestine Advocacy Project's work will notice that our new Poetry Campaign is different. It is not directly or explicitly political; it does not offer arguments or present evidence. Instead, it emphasizes the rich identity and culture that Palestinians are fighting to save. Here is why we think that is so important:
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - MARCH 1, 2016: Palestine Advocacy Project is bringing the work of Palestinian National Poet Mahmoud Darwish to San Francisco in a series of posters on SFMTA buses and trains. The selection of poetry includes excerpts from the epic ‘Under Siege’, as a well as shorter, but no less powerful works such as ‘Earth Poem’ and ‘A Lover From Palestine’.
You may have heard that the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) banned all political advertising on Boston's public transportation, but did you see the video of our board member, Richard Colbath-Hess stand up to a mob of anti-Palestinian protesters at the MBTA Control Board meeting? If not, you should.
